Creators
Monica Bradford-Lea – Creator/Production: Monica is a recent theatre/music graduate of the University of Ottawa. Monica is extremely interested in multidisciplinary theatre performance, integrating puppetry, music, movement and multimedia to create engaging performances. Recent roles and credits include: creator/actor in “S.S. Lightbulb” at the 2016 Fresh Meat DIY Theatre Festival (Second Step) and creator/actor in “In Waking Life” at the 2016 Ottawa Fringe Festival (Amped Up Theatre).
Caterina Fiorindi – Production: Caterina has recently finished her undergraduate degree from the Theatre program at the University of Ottawa. Most recently, she stage managed “Vovk” as well as assisted Ghost River Theatre with their production “Tomorrow’s Child”, and Theatre 4.669’s “Uncountried” for the 2017 undercurrents Festival.
Even Gilchrist – Production: Even Gilchrist is a recent theatre undergraduate from the University of Ottawa. He has been very honoured to be part of many projects around the city, including the recent co-production between Théåtre la Catapulte and GCTC’s “Les Passants” as apprentice costume designer, costume designer for Unicorn Theatre’s “Hosanna”, and helping with props and set on Theatre 4.669’s “Un-Countried”. His passion lies in devising and creating theatre with his company, Second Step.
Matt Hertendy – Creator/Production: Matt is an Ottawa-born and raised playwright and theatre creator. Recent credits include: 2016 Prix Rideau Award winning Outstanding New Creation “Rideshares & Rope Swings” (Two Kind Boys) and, the devised work “Boy Vs. Chair” (Two Kind Boys) for the Fresh Meat DIY Theatre Festival. In 2016, Matt was awarded the Prix Rideau Award for Emerging Artist of the Year. Matt is the co-founder of Two Kind Boys.
Cullen McGrail – Creator: Cullen was last seen in “Marriage” at uOttawa where he played Kochkaryov. Previous to that he designed lights for “Hosanna” by Unicorn Theatre, performed in “S.S. Lightbulb” by Second Step for Fresh Meat 5, played Hanschen in Orpheus’ “Spring Awakening”, and performed in “Division 161” by PUSH for the 2016 Ottawa Fringe Festival.
Franco Pang – Creator: Franco Pang is a third year student pursuing a BA with a Major in Theatre (Production Profile and a Minor in Psychology. Selected credits include: Suburban Beast’s “Concord Floral”, Lighting Designer for Toto Too’s “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert”, and Head Carpenter for Unicorn Theatre’s “Marriage”. He is currently working on another Fringe production stage managing for Floral Theatre’s “Three to Leave”.
Cullen Petersen – Creator: Cullen is a theatre student at the University of Ottawa. Since moving to Ottawa he has worked on a number of shows, both on and off the stage. Acting credits within the University include multiple roles in the Capital Critic’s Award nominated “Marat/Sade” and the role of Longaville in “Love’s Labour’s Lost”. He is a founding member of PUSH and co-starred in “Division 161” last year at Ottawa Fringe. Technical credits include lighting designer for “Blackbird” at the University of Ottawa and set construction for “ACT!” and “Ashes to Ashes”.
Olivia Tilley – Creator: Formerly hailing from Toronto, she has just completed the last year of her undergrad studying Theatre/Acting at the University of Ottawa. She has just recently directed her own independent scene and is currently the stage manager for a Youth Infringement show. Her most recent acting credits include “30:2” (Youth Infringement),” and “Attempts On Her Life” (UOttawa Drama Guild. Much love to her cast and crewmates for making her first Fringe experience an amazing one.
Matthew Venner – Creator: Matt is an Ottawa-born theatre creator, currently concentrating in Drama Studies at Carleton University. He is the co-founder of Two Kind Boys, and does work around the city with Ottawa’s Youth Infringement Festival and as Artistic Director of Sock ‘n’ Buskin Theatre Company. Recent credits include directing the Prix Rideau Award winning “Rideshares & Ropeswings” (Two Kind Boys), and the devised work “Boy Vs. Chair” (Two Kind Boys) for the Fresh Meat DIY Theatre Festival.
Lauren Welchner – Creator: Lauren is an Ottawa based actor and theatre creator, currently attending The Canadian College Of Performing Arts in Victoria, BC. Lauren is particularly excited by theatre creation, musical theatre, and improv comedy. Recent credits include “Beauty And The Beast” (Cogsworth, CCPA), “The Triangle Factory Fire Project” (Rose S/Markowitz, CCPA), “In Waking Life” (Cora, 2016 Ottawa Fringe Festival). She is a co-founder of the Ottawa company Amped Up Theatre.
